Offered in conversation with the upcoming exhibition “Across the West and Toward the North” exhibition at the National Nordic Museum, this workshop provides an opportunity to learn about the work of American and Norwegian landscape photographers of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and then bring that inspiration to your own photographic work. On Saturday (Oct 1), the workshop will begin with a curator-led tour of the exhibition at the Nordic Museum as well as a presentation on contemporary landscape photography led by photographer Jenny Riffle. On Sunday (Oct 2), Jenny will lead participants on a photographic excursion to Snoqualmie Falls to capture images inspired by both the grandeur of the landscape and the work seen in the exhibition.
