ABOUT THE WORK
It was early morning in the spring outside of Arlington Oregon. I was waiting to photograph a train in motion coming down the Colombia River headed back to Seattle. I looked down and there was an undisturbed nest of Chukar eggs, it seemed like aa eye in a field of tall grasses. A welcome surprise.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Peter de Lory received his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and MFA from the University of Colorado.  He has taught photography at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, San Jose State University and the University of New Mexico and has been the recipient of a California Arts Council Artist Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Arts Photography Fellowship.  He has had numerous one person exhibits over the past 25 years and completed photo residencies at the Seattle Water Department and Seattle Public Utilities.  His work is held in over 50 public and private collections including: the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian Institute, The Brookings Institute, Paine Webber, Princeton University and the Fogg Museum. www.peterdelory.com
