    Join photographer and fine art framer Danielle Quenell for a one-day workshop highlighting best practices for matting and framing your photographs. Students will learn basic techniques for presenting their work in a gallery or museum setting— including how to properly hinge a photograph, hand-cut a mat and assemble a simple frame.

    • How to safely handle a darkroom or digital print
    • Presentation styles
      • Floating
      • French Floating
      • Overmatting (Window mats)
    • Selecting Conservation-grade Materials
      • Acid-Free Mats and Adhesives
      • Mylar Corners
      • Acrylic Spacers Glazing
    • Mat Cutting (full hands-on tutorial)
      • Calculating dimensions
      • Shade selection
      • Pulling for signatures and edition numbers
    • Assembling a basic framing package
      • Hinging artwork
      • Selecting and cutting glazing
      • Applying spacers
      • Sealing and finishing a frame
      • Appropriate hanging hardware
