DESCRIPTION
Participants in this workshop will gain insight into the nuanced and collaborative process between photographer, performer and landscape. Working with several participating dancers and through both practice and discussion, we will discover meaningful and respectful ways for engaging with performers. By considering questions central to the collaborative process, discover how to generate ideas on site that inspire aesthetic and conceptual ideas. How does the landscape itself impact creative expression from both the performer’s perspective as well as our own? How can verbal communication play a role in sharing our ideas and brainstorming? As both a photographer and dancer, Sarah is excited to share her keen understanding of this exciting world. On July 16th we will be spending the day on Bainbridge Island, WA in various natural environments. Please wear clothing that can get dirty! Wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet/muddy and shorter pants. A small towel and knee pads are encouraged.
