Join acclaimed Seattle-based architectural photographer Lara Swimmer for this two-day workshop delving into the basics of architectural photography. Over the course of the workshop, students will be introduced to current commercial and editorial styles and in the process, begin to develop their own perspective on photographing the built environment. On day one, following a brief history of architectural photography, we will cover the fundamentals of camera and lens equipment for architecture work as well as basic digital editing methodology. From here, we will move off-site to spend the rest of our session practicing our technique photographing several nearby architecturally relevant buildings. Day two will begin with a group critique of images made during our previous site visit, during which Lara will provide feedback and suggestions. We will wrap up the day with a slide show of some of Lara's favorite types of projects to photograph.
