Toning with Selenium and Gold - Winter 2020
|DATE / TIME||February 2 & 9, 2020 | Sunday 12:30-5:30pm|
|TUITION||$300 | Payment & Refund Policy|
|PREREQS||Photography I: Black and White or equivalent experience (proficient working knowledge of black and white darkroom procedures required)|
In this two-day workshop, explore the possibilities of working with selenium, gold, and sepia, beginning with straight toning; see how different papers respond to full and/or partial toning; talk about considerations in terms of paper, with a concentration on printing in preparation for working with different toners. The second day we will be a bit more adventurous with dual toning, and selective toning. We will discuss considerations of these creative options and how they might apply to your work.
- Participants must have recent experience and proficient working knowledge of black and white darkroom procedures to participate in this workshop.
- Participants will work with their own prints, which must be straight black and white prints that have not yet been toned. Prints on fiber based papers are optimal for the workshop.
