DESCRIPTION
Join Gina White, our resident alt process guru, for this opportunity to learn about and explore the artistic potential of lumen printing. Lumen prints are camera-less, gelatin silver prints that are exposed to a large amount of light, causing the silver gelatin paper to become a print out paper resulting in unique colors and effects. Throughout this one-day workshop, experiment with different techniques and develop an understanding of the factors that influence the colors of the prints - light, sun, time, paper, toners, etc. Note we will first meet offsite at 10:30am at the south side of the water tower in Volunteer Park (Seattle, WA) to collect leaves, flowers, and other objects for creating compositions before returning at 11:30am to PCNW to expose our prints and experiment in the alternative process lab. All other materials for the lumen printing process will be provided.
