DESCRIPTION
Portraiture in photography is more vital than ever: from a snapshot of a friend on your phone to a formally staged studio photograph. In this course, students will be encouraged to consider the evolution of the photographic portrait and how cultural and creative forces have helped to expand the potential for the genre. Working both in the studio and in the field, participants will create work that represents their own vision of portraiture.
This will be hosted as a hybrid course including live, interactive online sessions and in-person field trips for on-location shooting/practice. Online sessions will utilize the Zoom platform along with Google Drive for sharing files. Details regarding access will be provided to enrolled students prior to the first class.
