Offered in conversation with the upcoming exhibition “Imogen Cunningham: A Retrospective” at the Seattle Art Museum, this workshop provides an opportunity to both learn from Cunningham’s long photographic career and be inspired to create your own work. Through both a curator-led tour of the Cunningham exhibition at SAM on January 22, as well as faculty-led presentations, participants will explore this deeply influential photographer’s work, from Pictorialist beginnings to later experimental processes, and then create their own photographic work in response. The group will meet the following week on January 29 at PCNW to share and respond to one another’s photographic creations. All levels of experience and formats from analogue to digital are welcome.
