In this online workshop, participants will be introduced to various ways that the sketchbook can be used as a tool for a photographer's studio practice. Together, we will look at examples of sketchbooks from contemporary photographers to see how the written word is combined with visuals within a sketchbook to support a developing body of work. Students will have the opportunity to work within their own sketchbook over the course of the workshop through guided writing assignments and will share their progress during each session. In this course you will be encouraged to write with courage and conviction and you will be taught how the investment in the sketchbook practice can substantially influence your image making.
