DESCRIPTION
Explore night photography in the field and in the digital lab through this intensive, hands-on workshop. Learn about exposure techniques, accurate night focus, painting with various types of light, and other individual camera settings to ensure your best possible night photography exposure. Come along as we spend a weekend at the renowned Stonehenge in Maryhill, WA photographing the Milky Way during a new moon. Then come back to the lab and learn how to properly edit your images using Lightroom and other software and also how to stack exposures to create new images.

NOTES

  • Course will meet on Monday, July 17 at PCNW from 6-9pm, spend a weekend in the field July 21-23, and return to PCNW for the final meeting on Monday, July 31 from 6-9pm
  • Tuition does not include travel or accommodations; additional details about the weekend outing, i.e. meet-up location, shoot times, etc., will be e-mailed to students
  • Participants must have:
    • Digital Camera with manual settings and proficient working knowledge of camera operations
    • Memory Cards
    • Tripod + Quick Release Plate
  • Prepare to dress warm when necessary and in dark clothing to ensure best results with techniques such as light painting
