Photography has always been a visually poetic tool for exploring what exactly “home” signifies, from the architecture of a neighborhood, to the psychological space of family relationships, to current issues of immigration and homelessness. In this course, students will look at look any element of one’s immediate environment through creative photographic and mixed media projects. In addition to class discussions, faculty presentations, and individual projects, this course will also include a series of visiting artist lectures exploring notions of home.
- Students must provide their own camera.
- Students should expect to spend several hours per week on assignments for this course, which may require use of PCNW facilities; view our Rental Rates for details about additional fees.
- Additional information about course expectations and any required materials will be provided by the instructor at the start of the quarter.
