Capture the vibrancy of street life in Seattle and produce a series of photos that shows your unique perspective on the urban environment. Whether you focus on the details and materials of city streets, the characters and people that populate our common sidewalks, pets and people, or city parks, our city has a lot to offer photographers seeking creative ways of sharing their view of Seattle. This week-long course will incorporate field trips to the International District, Capitol Hill, and the heart of downtown Seattle and provide an opportunity for students to formulate, shoot, edit, and print a photographic series of their own. Hone your photographic skills (using any digital camera), learn editing/printing techniques using Adobe Lightroom, practice photographing people and activities in the field, all while exploring the visual landscape of Seattle’s neighborhoods. This workshop will also partner with the darkroom Street Photography workshop to co-publish a photo zine of their collective work.
