Get Creative. See a little differently. Have a lot of fun. In this engaging 3-hour workshop, attendees will delve into the art of capturing captivating portraits through an exploration of lighting, composition, creative tools, and storytelling. Participants will gain valuable insights into the transformative power of lighting, to enhance mood, emphasize features, and create dynamic visual effects.
Through hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises, attendees will master the use of various creative tools such as props, textures, and unconventional accessories to add depth and personality to their portraits.
The workshop will also focus on the critical aspect of composition, teaching attendees how to frame their subjects in compelling and visually striking ways. Participants will develop a keen eye for composing portraits that not only capture the subject's essence but also tell a compelling visual story.
Recommended Gear
Attendees should bring a camera with a hot-shoe, a fully charged battery, memory card, and a portrait lens. Suggested focal lengths between 35mm - 85mm on full-frame or crop sensor cameras. Film or digital users are welcome!
Prerequisite
Attendees should have an understanding of ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, and White Balance, and how to set these on their camera in manual mode.
Must be registered for Chase The Light 2024 to sign-up and participate.
