Join us for an after hours adventure and a truly unique opportunity to learn the basics of night photography while exploring the magical Georgetown Steam Plant and the surrounding neon-lit streets of the Georgetown neighborhood. Spend the first evening on-location exploring both the historic Georgetown Steam Plant as well as the neighborhood's core business district for an instructor-led night shooting experience, then reconvene the following week for an online session to share work.

For the first meeting and on-location shoot, the group will have private access to photograph within the interior of the historic Georgetown Steam Plant accompanied by a volunteer docent. Participants will have the opportunity to photograph the spacious window-lined turbine halls and the massive steam engines. It's an amazing architectural space that exemplifies the term "steam-punk". From here, we will move on to photograph in the nearby historic brewery district where train tracks mix with the neon signs of old taverns. Tripods will be necessary for the long night exposures.

The following week, the group will convene online to share work from the on-location shoot, as well as any individual night photo outings you may be inspired to take between meetings.
