Join us for an after hours adventure and a truly unique opportunity to learn the basics of night photography while exploring the magical Georgetown Steam Plant and surrounding warehouse district. Spend the first evening on-location at the Georgetown Steam Plant for an instructor-led night shooting experience, then reconvene the following week for an online session to share work.
For the first meeting and on-location shoot, the group will have private access to photograph within the interior of the historic Georgetown Steam Plant accompanied by a volunteer docent. Participants will have the opportunity to photograph the spacious window-lined turbine halls and the massive steam engines. It's an amazing architectural space that exemplifies the term "steam-punk". In addition, participants can of course photograph the exterior facade. Tripods will be necessary for the long night exposures.
The following week, the group will convene online to share work from the on-location shoot, as well as any individual night photo outings you may be inspired to take between meetings.
